OOC

NAME: Julia
AGE: 25+
CONTACT: PM
CHARACTER(S): N/A, also apping Uchiha Sasuke

IC

NAME: Tyki Mikk
AGE: Tyki is approximately 27; the Noah inside of him is ~7,000
SUITABILITY: N/A
CANON: D.Gray-Man
CANON POINT: Ch 226, after encountering Nea

ABILITIES: As a Noah, Tyki has access to supernatural abilities, primarily using the Dark Matter inherent to the Akuma created by the Earl. Due to his connection to the Earl, he can control Akuma while remaining unaffected by the corruptive toxin present in their bodies, and he can also destroy Innocence (a tool supposedly created by God). However, a drawback to this is that Innocence is immune to the majority of his own abilities, specifically those using Dark Matter.

The substance of Dark Matter is the opposite of Innocence. It appears as a black, viscous liquid that Tyki uses to manipulate around himself, sometimes as a shield and other times as sharp weapons. He can cover his flesh with Dark Matter to protect it from attacks, hardening his skin while also granting him a boost in speed, strength/power, and endurance.

JOYD, THE NOAH OF PLEASURE If awakened, Joyd has the ability to take over Tyki's body and "possess" him in combat. Joyd is the Noah within Tyki, a thousands-years-old creature that follows the Earl of the Millennium. In this state, Tyki's blood is turned black and tentacles emerge from his body, transforming his appearance into one that almost resembles a knight. His already enhanced abilities — power, speed, endurance, etc — are further magnified in this form, and Dark Matter infuses all of his attacks. He becomes deranged by the bloodlust of the Noah, intent only on inflicting violence.

ADDITIONAL ENHANCED ABILITIES Tyki also appears to have the ability to survive explosions at point-blank, and react to attacks with superhuman reflexes. As these are more minor and passive abilities, I didn't include them above.

THE TEASE The "Tease" are man-eating golems that look like butterflies. Tyki has control over these, so he can use them to create shields or direct them to devour his opponents.

"CHOOSE" One ability that the Noah within Tyki allows him to use is the power of "choose". Tyki can choose whatever he wishes to touch, and this appears to include everything from someone else's body to the air itself, capable of manipulating the environment around him. (It is important to note that none of the below techniques work on Innocence.)

  • Solid phasing means Tyki can physically phase himself through objects and barriers. This is demonstrated when he puts his hand into Allen's chest and punctures his heart. Defensively, this also allows him to avoid damage by phasing through attacks.
  • Fluid Walker is when Tyki is able to walk on surfaces that would normally not hold his weight, such as air or water, by "choosing" to. This converts gas and liquids to solid objects. Physics? We don't know her.
  • Refusal is an extreme method of "choose" where Tyki can reject existing physical principles of the world. During the battle against Allen, he creates a vacuum by rejecting the oxygen and air pressure around them. Not only would this suffocate his opponent, but the change in air pressure is enough to crush their body as well.

  • As a note, Tyki wouldn't be interested in causing harm to the resort. I will mainly be using his abilities for CR flavor with OOC permission.

VICES: note: I took this section pretty literally with vices/virtues, please let me know if I should change it to more specifically qualify good/bad traits!
  • hedonism: A given, since he is the Noah of Pleasure. It is pleasure that stands as a way of life for him, pursuing happiness and good feeling and enjoyment wherever he can find it. This also happens to tie him to humanity, since chasing pleasure and happiness is such a human characteristic, but in Tyki's case can verge on obsessive and would therefore be categorized as his main, all-consuming vice.
  • gambling: It's all fun and games to him. This is demonstrated countless times, as he enjoys "betting" even during a high stakes battle against his enemies. Earlier in the canon, when he is still pretending to be a human with his "white" side, Tyki is also seen playing poker with his human friends frequently.
  • violence: Ultimately, this is where he ends up as a Noah. It could be said that this vice is more belonging to Joyd, but of course, Joyd is still a fundamental part of who Tyki is. He enjoys violence, though he seems to have particular tastes (such as when he says women should die elegantly and without struggle). The Noah in him craves violence, and when fighting in the war against Exorcists and Innocence, Tyki is only too happy to provide it.

  • VIRTUES:
  • loyalty: Although they are portrayed as the main antagonists of the series, the Noah are also shown to be loving and close with one another. Tyki is loyal to his family, and the Earl, above all else. When one of the Noah (Skin Boric) dies, they all begin weeping with grief over their slain loved one. Tyki also becomes defensive on behalf of the Earl when he becomes threatened by the Fourteenth; they tend to baby the Earl, becoming protective of his fractured memories and watching over him when he sleeps.
  • humanity: At the source of his internal conflict, Tyki harbors a very human side. He can be sympathetic and even kind toward humans, so long as they aren't the Exorcists who stand in the way of the Earl's goals. He understands human nature, and a part of him craves to continue being human—despite the fact that the Noah is ever-present in his body, consuming him from within. He strives to hold onto a shred of himself as "Tyki Mikk" regardless.
  • contentment: Above all else, Tyki would like to live a life of leisure and contentment. He is happy with how things are and if not for the Noah that possesses his reincarnated form, he would have probably gone on to live a carefree, easygoing existence. He takes each day as it comes, and he enjoys life's little pleasures to their fullest extent.

  • SURVEY

▶ I REGULARLY MAKE NEW FRIENDS.
▷ 1, strongly agree. Back when Tyki was still maintaining a human side on a regular basis, he picked up friends effortlessly at card games, work, or just on the street. His easygoing and sociable nature makes this not a challenge. It's just whether or not he's pretending. Yet when he does establish a friendship, he can cherish it quite a bit, stating that he "misses his miner buddies" after he moves more fully into his Noah role.

▶ SEEING OTHER PEOPLE CRY MAKES ME WANT TO CRY TOO.
▷ 3, sometimes/it depends. This is an interesting question, because normally Tyki isn't that empathetic and wouldn't cry if (for example) one of his victims/targets broke down. However, he's shown to weep when one of the Noah dies, so he is capable of that grief... though it may come from his reincarnated genes tied to the Noah family more than anything.

▶ I OFTEN MAKE A BACKUP PLAN FOR A BACKUP PLAN.
▷ 4, disagree. Not really, since Tyki goes with the flow and likes to bet or gamble on different outcomes or difficulties. However, the reason this isn't a 1 is because he might make a plan if serving the Earl in some task. Failure is less of an option there.

▶ I USUALLY STAY CALM, EVEN WHEN UNDER A LOT OF PRESSURE.
▷ 1, strongly agree. In the heat of battle and outside of it, Tyki is cool as a cucumber. The most he shows under pressure is shock/surprise that he has even been challenged seriously.

    ▶ I AM VERY SENTIMENTAL.
▷ 3, sometimes/it depends. Again, this is sort of divided by his inner conflict. He does appear to be sentimental over his human friends, but it's almost as one looks back on a fond memory of a... dead pet, or something. Yet as the Noah, he is incredibly sentimental about his family (see: weeping over a death).

▶ EVEN A SMALL MISTAKE CAN CAUSE ME TO DOUBT MY OVERALL ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE.
▷ 4, disagree. Going along with his cavalier nature, Tyki takes things as they come, including his own mistakes. The worst he'll usually show is irritation that he didn't succeed.

▶ I AM MORE INCLINED TO FOLLOW MY HEAD THAN MY HEART.
▷ 3, sometimes/it depends. A lot of his reactions are situational. If it is a battle against an Exorcist, he's likely to be logical rather than follow his heart or get caught up in shounen speeches (lmao). He even calls Allen out on being "too sentimental" with him. Yet, with his family, this changes.

▶ I AM PRONE TO WORRYING THAT THINGS WILL TAKE A TURN FOR THE WORSE.
▷ 5, strongly disagree. Nope. He doesn't worry about things or allow any anxious thoughts to take him over. He is much more reactive; if something bad happens, he may mull on it afterward, but not before.

▶ I ENJOY WATCHING PEOPLE ARGUE.
▷ 2, agree. It's pure entertainment for him, a little show before a main event.

▶ I TEND TO AVOID DRAWING ATTENTION TO MYSELF.
▷ 3, sometimes/it depends. I would say, for the most part, not really. It depends on whether he is pretending to be human or not—or when he is under the guise of an aristocrat among the other Noah. With the former among his fellow vagrants, Tyki very much blended into the crowd so he could enjoy human pleasure as much as possible. For the latter, it's necessary to be in the spotlight, and he performs just as well (even if he personally dislikes it).

▶ I OFTEN DO THINGS AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT.
▷ 4, disagree. There's no evidence to show that he's a procrastinator. He may go at his own pace, but he isn't usually running late by any means. It's more likely that he will show up or get things done right on time.

▶ I FIND IT EASY TO EMPATHIZE WITH A PERSON WHOSE EXPERIENCES ARE VERY DIFFERENT FROM MINE.
▷ 3, sometimes/it depends. More like sympathize. He's fascinated by what humans go through, and he wants to experience many human things for himself, but he can't always see it from their perspective. With the Noah, however, yes. He would find it much easier to empathize given their shared genes.

▶ I BECOME BORED OR LOSE INTEREST WHEN THE DISCUSSION GETS HIGHLY THEORETICAL.
▷ 2, agree. Yes, he just wants to chill and smoke. He's not a brainy/future-thinking type. This might change if it's a topic on one of his interests (i.e. gambling).

    ▶ I RARELY FEEL INSECURE.
▷ 2, agree. Yes, for the most part. The only time he has demonstrated insecurity is when Allen freed the Noah inside of him, causing permanent scarring—and this is because he did not really understand what was happening to him or the intensity of it.

▶ I AM STILL BOTHERED BY MISTAKES I MADE A LONG TIME AGO.
▷ 4, disagree. Not likely. If it had something to do with the Earl or his family, it's possible, but otherwise he isn't keen to hold onto baggage.

SUIT REQUESTS: 1) Spades. My main reason for choosing this is that the soul, and a lot of the effects associated with this suit, brings Tyki's conflict with his Noah into sharp relief. And he is most fun when he is struggling between the human part of his personality versus that monstrous side. This part of him is hidden, or he would at least be trying to hide it from everyone else, so ripping it out is exactly what I'd love to do on his character development journey. This suit would be my first choice.

    2) Diamonds. A good backup in terms of pushing Tyki to be more aggressive and animalistic while focused on his physical body. I like the traits associated with needing skin ship and intimacy in general, since Tyki is somewhat closed off and wouldn't pursue much more than one-night stands. So this suit, in my mind, will force him to be a bit more attached and needy. Plus it'd be fun to play with some of the physical changes.

RANK REQUESTS: Personally, I think high rank would be the funniest for Tyki because he would hate it. He doesn't enjoy the lavish, fancy amenities that many of the other Noah in his family do, and he generally would rather duck out of a ~high society~ setting than stick around. While he plays well in the spotlight and performs the "character" as needed, it's far from his favorite, so it would be interesting and potentially a lot of fun to force him into that role here. I have a slight preference for Ace or Jack, mainly because he's not so high-ranking or as much of a leader in his own canon. And another reason I'd like him in this spot is because he wouldn't really move himself up the ranks by playing the game intentionally, either. He's too easygoing and not ambitious.

However, I am also open to anything in the middle rank. I am least interested in the lower rank, not because it's the worst for accommodations, but because it wouldn't be that compelling for Tyki as a character. Nothing about that level challenges his personality, and may in fact have him sticking to the shadows/his "human" side rather than actively participating or playing the role of the "Noah", which is what I am hoping to make him do.
